About Veterans Healing Initiative

Veterans Healing Initiative is the first and only non-profit organization dedicated to providing veterans access to treatment for substance abuse and PTSD. Working with a network of clinically qualified treatment programs, VHI provides funding for underinsured veterans who would otherwise go without care. In addition, VHI is working to expand treatment capacity by funding expansion of veteran-focused substance abuse and trauma programs which have a proven record of success.

Finding treatment can be a problem for veterans with little or no access to VA benefits or health insurance. VHI is changing that. VHI identifies dual-diagnosis substance abuse and PTSD programs for veterans, and awards grants to qualified programs so they can provide sponsorship care for those in need.

VHI’s network of providers offers comprehensive treatment for substance abuse, which may be a result of combat or sexual trauma, depression, anxiety and/or anger. Our programs also provide expertise in treatment for opiate addiction due to chronic pain management and provide alternative treatment options and therapies.
